Originally built in 1969, Villa Cambier radiates old-school charm that harmoniously merges with modern amenities. A restful retreat for groups of up to ten persons, this villa places you right by the UNESCO-protected Le Morne Mountain. Just steps from the villa is found a life-size reconstruction of a slave village, allowing you a chance to view life as it was. Drenched in Mauritian history, Le Morne Mountain is a UNESCO-protected Heritage Site and well-worth a visit. In fact, you can summit to the very top of the mountain, free of charge. From high above, you’ll even spot the world-famous underwater waterfall that went viral on social media a few years ago. Just five minutes from the villa is found the popular Le Morne Public Beach, known for its spectacular sunsets.
The lagoon is teeming with an assortment of colorful fish, coral, and even flocks of dolphins. Should you wish to get up close and personal with the abundant marine life, you can always hop on one of the many speedboats, glass bottom boats or catamarans that sail across the area.
