Mauritius villas for rent

Mark Twain’s oft-quoted statement - ‘Mauritius was made first and then heaven, heaven being copied after Mauritius’ - speaks volumes about the island’s breathtaking beauty. There are sweeping stretches of white sand shores, rugged mountains, star studded skies, tumbling waterfalls and so much more.

Step into your Mauritius villa, and you’re greeted with the essentials: a glimmering pool, beautifully appointed living spaces and well-landscaped outdoor areas. Service is impeccable: your villa manager knows you by name, and will go out of his or her way to ensure that your holiday is an unforgettable experience - whether that’s helping you out with travel arrangements or planning customised in-villa experiences.

The north of Mauritius is known for its energetic nightlife, and a wide-ranging dining and shopping scene. You’ll be right in the heart of the action at Grand Baie, a seaside village home to restaurants, nightlife venues, traditional craft shops and shopping centres. Pamplemousses, located 20 minutes’ drive from the Grand Baie is home to two popular attractions: the Mauritius National Botanical Garden and L'Aventure du Sucre. The latter is a museum converted from an old sugar mill, with guided tours that are rounded off with sugar and rum tastings.

If you’re up for more shopping and dining, check out Port Louis, the vibrant capital city of the island. And while you’re in the vicinity, make time to visit the Blue Penny Museum, take a stroll up Signal Mountain and explore Eureka, a sprawling colonial mansion.

You’ll find some of the most beautiful beaches along the east coast. The main draw here is Belle Mare Beach, a postcard-pretty attraction with white sand shores and aquamarine waters. Beach lovers will be content with lounging upon the paradisiacal shores, but Belle Mare offers so much to do. Try you hand at windsurfing, horseback riding, parasailing, kayaking and more.

Can’t get enough of the beach? Hop off on a boat for a ride to Ile aux Cerfs. Just like Belle Mare, the island offers a scenic landscape and wide-ranging variety of activities and amenities. For an excellent snorkeling experience, head to Blue Bay Marine Park. It’s an attraction that checks off all the right boxes: crystal clear waters, a spectacular coral garden and myriad fauna. Away from the coasts, there’s Vallée de Ferney, a forest and wildlife reserve that offers a scenic hike, as well as the charming city of Mahébourg.

The south and southwestern region of the island offers an eclectic mix of attractions - from lively towns, to mountain ranges, tea plantations, wildlife attractions and cascading waterfalls.

The coastal town of Flic-en-Flac is a tourist hotspot, drawing vacationers with its white sand coasts, shops, restaurants, vacation rentals and beach activities. But the region offers more than just about shopping, seafront dining and beach parties.

There’s Seven Coloured Earths, where you’ll find sand dunes in unusual colours like red, purple, green, yellow and violet. Located a skip away is Chamarel Waterfall, an incredibly scenic attraction surrounded by verdant greenery, with waters cascading down from a height of 83 metres. Combine your trip with a visit to the Black River Gorges National Park; it’s just 20 minutes’ drive from the waterfall, and is home to popular nature sites like the Grand Bassin, as well as a rich diversity of flowering plants and wildlife.

Tea lovers will enjoy a visit to the Bois Cheri Tea Plantation. Join in a guided tour of the facility for a comprehensive overview of the entire production process. There’s also a small museum detailing the history of tea, alongside an interesting exhibit of machines that have been used over the past century for tea production
