Villa Ilot Marine tucked on a little island surrounded by the azure blue waters of Roche Noire on the East coast of the island. A stone stairway leads down to a little bathing pool and a little further there is a jetty which leads to a deeper spot to swim and dive. For a wonderful day-trip, you can drive to the island's capital Port Louis, strolling the market and visiting a museum or you can visit Grand Baie, a popular beach resort town with water-sport activities.
All the bedrooms enjoy air-conditioned comfort and the beds are enriched by Egyptian bedlinen. Two of the suites have access to a private veranda to enjoy some quiet time reading a book. The other two bedrooms, one furnished with a double bed and the other with three twin-beds, are perfect for families, sharing one bathroom.
This is a truly special villa that will steal your heart immediately upon arrival. The only way to access this little sanctuary is via a stone pathway and a timber bridge over the ocean as the villa is located on a rock platform in the blue lagoon. The charming villa is designed open-plan and crafted out of natural materials, going back to nature though topped off with modern facilities. There are sunbeds and beach-chairs for enjoying the enchanting view all around you in the shade of the trees or in the sun.
Inside, beneath the rattan roof, the interior design is natural and elegant. There is a rattan sofa lounge tucked with plush white pillows where you can watch movies together on a cozy family evening. On the other side, there is a large dining table with a white table cloth for a delicious homemade meal, maybe with freshly caught seafood of the day. You can also choose to dine alfresco style next to the shore at the picnic table.
The villas friendly staff will welcome you warmly and do all the housekeeping, including the laundry, for you, making your stay even more pleasurable. Wifi is offered complimentary.
The Blue Bay Marine Park is not far from L'Ilot. This UNESCO-recognized region is home to many types of coral and fish. This area is an excellent spot for snorkelling and diving. This area is great for amateur divers, as it is only five metres deep and has crystal-clear water.
You can shop at the nearby village Mahebourg if you want to. There are many street stalls and vibrant markets where you will find handcrafted baskets, colourful sarongs, shirts and other goodies. Mahebourg is rich in history. You will also find ancient relics dating back to the French colonization of Mauritius.
I was slightly anxious booking with a company I didn’t know, and the villa online looked too good to be true, but it really was a magical experience. The villa is even more beautiful and unique than it looks online - who doesn’t want to stay on their own island in Mauritius? The villa was immaculate - there was a man whose job it was to rake the sand around the villa every morning. The other staff were incredible too, nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed having kayaks to paddle around the island and coastline. The best part was snorkelling around the island and seeing fish, eels, squid, starfish (we brought our own snorkels). Don’t hesitate to book this villa!
A superb position, within a large beautiful lagoon. The house is elegant and relaxing. Perfect spot for a total disconnection in luxury. STAFF IS VERY KEEN TO HELP AND FOOD IS DELICIOUS. New manager, Sebastien Lamusse, could be more attentive and organise replacement of staff when off... 3 days before a chef fills the position? could do much better! and also respond to mails!!! 98 % satisfaction for this holiday
We spent seven heavenly days at this magnificent spot. Exactly what you see on all the photos. We chose the full board and were treated like queens. We asked for a few food changes which was no problem. We can only compliment all the staff and thank you Tatiana for allowing us into your home. We will definitely be back.
one of our best memories for family vacation. Being in an island with all the comfort and facilities you can expected. i highly recommend to ask for food cooker (very high quality). View is 360 deg blue lagon.
