Thank you for your interest in our villas. We look forward to speaking with you!
Le Petite Baleine is a charming two-bedroom home away from home located right at the beautiful beach of Pointe aux Canonniers in the north of Mauritius island. The house is surrounded by untouched raw nature and enjoys breathtaking views over the infinite ocean with the island of Coin the Mire as the backdrop. While enjoying peacefulness and tranquillity throughout within this wonderfully tropical holiday home, the lively centre of Grand Baie is just a five minute drive away, great for those who are up for some action, strolling along the colourful bazaar, eating out or having fun at the beach with watersports in the day-time.
La Petite Baleine features two bedrooms, one with a large double bed for the parents and one with twin beds for the kids. Both the rooms feature air-conditioning, writing desks with chairs and together they share one bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet.
The private lush garden of La Petite Baleine sets the perfect holiday vibes to unwind completely with your loved ones. The garden features manicured lawns with both sunny and shaded areas and guests enjoy direct access to the golden sandy beach where you can sunbath and swim in the azure blue sea. Parents will love sharing a bottle of chilled white wine together on the shaded veranda while watching the kids play in the grass or out on the beach, building sandcastles by the sea. The veranda also features a pick-nick table for alfresco dining with freshly grilled food from the garden BBQ.
The living room has a warm and cosy feel with colours of soft yellow and a natural interior design ruled by rattan and local wood. There is a comfy lounge corner with rattan sofa's and arm-chairs, perfect for spending quality time with your loved ones in the evening, watching a movie or two on the television set. Meals can be enjoyed indoors at the wooden dining table for 4 or more casually out on the veranda. La Petite Baleine also features a western kitchen, fully equipped with everything your holiday home needs.
The villa offers daily housekeeping to take care of the household for you, giving you a real break from daily life. The maid will be there every morning from 09.00 to 12.00. A babysitter, transport or in-house massages can all be arranged for you upon request.
Villa La Petite Baleine is designed for small families wanting to stay somewhere tropical and peaceful yet not too far from a hustling and bustling town. There is a mini-mart in walking distance from your home where you can get some groceries and a Super U supermarket is found at a 10 minute drive away in the center of Grand Baie. Grand Baie is a popular beach resort destination of Mauritius with a bazaar, shops, restaurants and lots of watersport activities, entertaining young and old. To sniff up some culture, visit the islands capital Port Louis, just a short 35 minute drive away from villa La Petite Baleine. To reach the international airport of Mauritius takes around 1,5 hour.
We spent 15 days in this small modern house which has kept this typical Mauritian Creole charm of yesteryear (house in L, with its verandah and light everywhere), feet in the water and soooo agreeable. There are even a few very fine sandbanks (like Pereybere sand), nice snorkeling spots and small fishing boats. The Coin de Mire opposite is breathtaking. We had nocturnal baths with the full moon, it was great! Loads of small fish do not hesitate to come to the shore. A 5 minute drive to the Super U, 5 minutes walk to the small harbor for water activities and others, 5 minutes to restaurants and shops, 2 mins to the bakery Le Fournil which makes good pastry and bread, 5 minutes to the gas station and the exchange offices, it is very well located. There is also Rita the house manager who is a trustworthy person, very service oriented, devoted, foresightful, trustworthy and engaging. She is sweet and has a keen sense of service. We are particularly demanding and pragmatic and it was just perfect, even above our expectations. She has given us good advice on several occasions. We could not meet Charles because his schedule did not allow him to see us, but Rita knew how to take over. The neighbors, Ajay (fisherman) and his friends are very nice. We were able to buy fresh fish, octopus, very large lobsters (2kg for a single animal) ... directly from fishermen who clean everything. The huge grilled lobster, garlic butter and lime from Mauritius, Sauvignon or Chablis and / or Phoenix beer ... it was excellent! We reiterated these unforgettable moments 3 times! This house remains engraved in our memories. We are used to renting luxurious houses and hotels but this humble, well-equipped and modern house has affected us a lot. We would have liked to buy it! If indeed it was for sale .... Even the cyclone class 2 which left after 2 days did not scare us. It was a Brittany weather for 2 days, just as charming. We cherish this corner of paradise in our hearts and we hope to come back again soon. P, F, M and W. Family JO
We really liked this villa on the beach!!! The neighbourhood is very calm. All the rooms were very clean and spacious. There is airco in the 2 bedrooms. The kitchen is good equipped and there is also a grill on the veranda. In the morning there is a maid, not only she performs housekeeping activities but if you want she also prepare meals (and she cooks well!!!). We had a very good contact with the owner before our stay and a warm personel welcome on our day of arrival. It's a perfect place for a holiday, for us much better than a room in a resort....
