How do you select the villas in Mauritius?

Mauritius is gaining in popularity every year and more and more holiday homes pop up all the time around the island. Our goal is to provide our customers with a wonderful island stay, completely hassle-free and looked after for with great care from arrival to departure. A villa with bad maintenance or a noisy location doesn’t fit in this image! Therefore, we never list a villa under our villa collection without having seen the villa with our own eyes and inspecting it thoroughly with the help of a checklist. Only the best villas are taken under our care and today, we have over a 100 handpicked villas in Mauritius. Our villas need to be as beautiful as they look on the photos, they need to live up to our customer’s expectations and meet our high-quality standards. We do regular site inspections to guarantee the quality of our villas at all times.

Do you really inspect all villas?

Each and every one of our villas is inspected by our personal site inspectors before it is listed on our website. We also do regular site inspections to make sure it meets our quality standards all-year round.

How do you guarantee the quality?

Our personal approach and regular site inspections are the key factors in guaranteeing the quality of our villas. The villas on our website have passed all of the points on our high-quality checklist and you can be sure that we never compromise on quality for we prefer our customers to be happy.

How can you guarantee the best price?

We are in direct contact with the villa owners and we made best-price agreements for all of our villas - this is how we can guarantee the best price. If in the highly unlikely event that you find one of our villas at a cheaper rate on any other website than ours, we will refund you the difference in price.

How come there is no service fee? How do you make money?

We don’t make money with service or booking fees, it is the owner of the villa who pays us directly for our services. After all, listing their villa on our website gives them customers and so, everyone is happy and all is transparent, honest and clear.

Our customers never have to worry about any hidden fees or taxes.

Booking process

Can I get some help to decide on my holiday and villa?

We are always stand-by to assist and help our customers to decide on which villa suits their travel group and your travel needs best. We have selected and inspected all of our villas in Mauritius first-hand, so you can be sure that we know where to find the perfect villa for groups of friends, families with kids and couples in love. Our villa consultants are happy to chat with your or email you about the best options, just send us a note and we will get back to you within 6 hours of time. Our international team of villa specialists speaks 9 languages and we are always happy to hear you from, no matter which day of the week. We also have a travel blog to provide our customers with inspiration and ideas for their holiday to Mauritius.

I am not ready to confirm, can I simply enquire and place an option on a villa?

As no other, we understand that it takes time to find the perfect villa for your holiday. We want to give all of our customers time to make the right decision. You can place an option on a villa for free and we will give you 3 days to think it over. Placing an option is done by filling in your details and travel dates directly on the villa page. There are no credit card details required to place an option, it is totally free. A confirmation email will be sent to you and our villa consultants will be in touch with you to answer any questions you may have about the villa or your travel destination. We aim to respond to emails within 6 hours.

How do I confirm my booking?

We like things to be clear, safe and secure. Once you have made up your mind and you are ready to confirm your booking, we will send you an email with instructions on how to proceed with the payment to secure the booking of your Mauritius Villa.

What are the payment terms?

To secure your booking, we ask for a 50% down payment of the total rental price. The remaining 50% of the payment should be done 60 days before your arrival unless stated differently.

What is the cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy states that both deposit- and balance payments are non-refundable. However, in case of cancellations, we will always try to get you a refund so let us know as soon as you can. Refunds of subjected to a USD $200 administration fee.

What is included in the price of my rental? Do I have to pay more hidden fees or taxes?

There are no hidden fees or taxes - this is one of our key principles. We treat our customers the way we like to be treated: open, honest and clear. Whether or not daily breakfast and airport transfers are included in the rate varies. Some high-end villas may even include a private chef or a chauffeur - it really depends on the villa. What payment method do you accept? Any specific payment for people in Singapore or Australia?

Our payment methods include credit cards and bank transfer to our local bank accounts in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany and the United Kingdom. You can also pay cash or with cheques if you visit our head office in Singapore. Our prices are stated in USD. If you would like to pay with a different currency, we follow the exchange rate of our bank on the day of payment.

How do I know that you are trustworthy?

Mauritius-Villa.com.com is part of a bigger company called Villa-Finder. Villa-Bali.com, Villa-Phuket.com, SriLanka-Villa.com and Samui-Villa.com are all under the care of Villa Finder, a Singaporean company founded back in 2012. With the growing success of our rental websites, there have been several press mentions over the years and our partners include big names such as Emirates, Air France, Maybank and many more. Can I visit one of your office(s) to discuss my booking?

We love to welcome our customers anytime in our office on the island of Mauritius. You are also welcome at our offices in Singapore and Bali, should that be more convenient.

Do you really plant a tree for each and every booking made on the website?

We are proud to answer this question with a full-blown ‘yes’. 2000 trees have been planted already on the island of Sumatra in the Indonesian Archipelago. We like to give something back to our beloved mother nature and we are doing it ‘tree by tree’.

Arrival and stay

How do I find the villa? Can you arrange my airport transfer? Is it included?

Finding the villa is easy if you make use of our airport transfer. Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be picked up by our driver and transferred directly to your villa. Additional costs apply for this service. You can also arrange your own transport if you prefer but do note that a taxi driver may have trouble finding the exact location of your villa. You will be provided with the villa’s address and the manager’s contact details but even with this vital information, it can still be hard to find the exact location of your villa. If you prefer a hassle-free airport pick-up and villa drop-off, we recommend you to make use of our airport transfer. Who will be there at the time of check-in?

Upon your arrival at the villa, you will be welcomed warmly by the villa owner or the villa manager, making you feel at home and providing you with useful information for your island stay.

Who will be there during the stay? What service will I get?

All of our villas come with housekeeping and maintenance staff. Behind the scenes, the staff will keep the villa in perfect condition with being intrusive of your privacy. Some villas have security guards at night and high-end luxury retreat may even include the service of a private in-villa chef and a private driver. You can find this information on the villa page.

Is my breakfast included?

Whether breakfast is included or not depends on the villa. Each villa has a different policy. Some offer daily breakfast, others one-time breakfast on the first morning of your arrival and some offer breakfast at additional costs. You can find this information directly on the villa page.

What if I want to arrange activities during my stay? What do you recommend I do in Mauritius?

Although hanging around in your private Mauritian home away from home is quite wonderful, you may want to go explore the island a bit more. There are plenty of things to see and do. To get ideas on what to do, check out our travel blog. You can also send us an email, our travel consultants are always happy to give you personal advice on things to do, where to do them, what to see and when to go. All you need to do is ask.

What if I need help during my stay? What if the villa is not as described? What if something doesn't work? Do you have a team on the ground?

We care about our customers as much as we care about our villas and we guarantee the quality of our villas and our services. We do regular site inspections to the villa and we keep close contact with the villa owners. If, however, despite our quality guarantee, a problem arises or you feel disappointed in any way, don’t hesitate to contact us. We have a team on the ground in Mauritius and our customer service is stand-by 7 days a week. We will solve the problem as fast as possible.

Where are you based and how long have you been around?

Our head office is in Singapore where our company is registered since 2012. Villa Finder was founded by David Chambat and Daniel Rouquette, starting out on the island of Bali with a small collection of handpicked private pool villas. After a year, Villa-Bali.com grew into a successful business and so they decided to open up a customer service in Seminyak, one of the most popular towns on Bali Island. Who is behind the website?

We are a small international team of 25 people and together we speak no less than 9 languages to provide the best customer service possible We speak English, French, Indonesian, Thai, Dutch, German, Chinese, Vietnamese and Russian (yes, we are proud of it!). It is our goal to find the best villas in Mauritius and to offer them to our customers at the very best prices. All of our villas are hand-picked by our villa specialists and we make sure the villas keep up to our high-quality standards.

Are you part of a larger group?

Yes, we are. Mauritius-Villa.com.com was founded by the Singaporean-registered company Villa Finder.
